Free domain transfers

It’s fast and free to transfer these domains into your account: .co.uk, .me.uk, .ltd.uk, .org.uk, or .uk.

The process is easy and the transfer completes quickly..

You don’t even need to host the site with us, but you will now have full control over your domain names.

‘.com’ domains

Moving your .com domains to cylonet is free, but there is a £7.80 fee payable for adding one years registration to the domain name, which is a requirement of the transfer process. It works out cheaper than one years renewal anyway - so you start saving straight away.

 

Transfer your domain

The transfer process for domain names varies, dependent on the type of domain in question.

 

UK domains (all domains that end .uk)

For UK domain transfers (Domains ending in .uk) you’ll first need to change the Nominet (IPS) Tag with your current domain registrar.

Once thats done you will be able to complete the transfer via your control panel.

1. Ask your current domain provider to change the IPS Tag of the domain name to STACK (most providers allow this via their control panel, so you may be able to do this yourself)
2. Login to your account at cylonet and in the Order Services section click Transfer Domain Names 
3. Enter the domain name and click Search Domains
4. Add the domain to your basket and complete checkout.
5. The transfer will complete almost instantly.

GTLD domains (ending in .com, .net, .org and most other domains)

1. Ask your current domain provider for the domain name Authorisation Code (Auth or EPP code)
2. Make sure you are listed as the Admin Contact, as an e-mail will get sent here
3. Login to your account at cylonet and in the Order Services section click Transfer Domain Names 
4. Enter the domain name and click Search Domains
5. Add the domain to your basket and complete checkout
6. An email will be sent - usually instantly but can take up to 6 hours - to the e-mail address listed as the Admin Contact for the Domain.
7. Follow the link in this e-mail and Approve the transfer by entering the authorisation code obtained earlier
8. Once authorised the transfer will complete automatically within 5 days

CentralNIC domains (ending in .uk.com, .gb.com, .eu.com, .uk.net, .gb.net and .eu.net)

1. Ask your current domain provider for the domain's Authorisation Code (Auth or EPP code)
2. Login to your account at cylonet and in the Order Services section click Transfer Domain Names 
3. Enter the domain name and click Search Domains
4. Add the domain to your basket
5. You'll be prompted for the Authorisation Code. Please enter it here.
6. Complete checkout
7. The transfer will complete automatically within 5 days
